Cruise Review

  • Destination: Far East
  • Sailing date: 09/11/16
I travelled with a group on the Quantum of the Seas leaving Shanghai, visting Kochi and Miyazaki then returning to Shanghai in November, 2016.

The Ship - The Quantum of the Seas is without a doubt one of the most stunning ships at sea at the moment. The decor is modern, the public areas very well maintained. There are two groups of elevators, one toward the front and one toward the back - each elevator section has 12 or so elevators which makes the wait for an elevator much shorter. The pool areas on the 15th floor front to back include an adult solarium, a large covered pool area, and the uncovered main pool midship. Unfortunately due rough seas between Shanghai and Kochi we were unable to use the pools however there were plenty of other activities onboard to keep up occupied. Toward the back is the Seaplex area which is where the bumper cars, roller skate rink and discos are held there the Flowrider surfing simulator and the iFly skydiving simulator and rock climbing wall.

If you are a keen gym user you wont be disappointed with the fitness centre onboard it is very well equipped and as you can imagine is very rarely jam packed so having your always have your pick at what machines you can use.

The Northstar is a must when you are onboard. The view that you get from the ship is incredible!

Cabin Review

  • Cabin Type: Inside
  • Deck: 8
Our cabin was small, about what you would expect for an inside cabin but the nice touch was the virtual balcony so you at least had the feeling you had a balcony when coming into port and seeing the beautiful views of China and Japan.
