    Trip to Salou May 2017

On arrival into Barcelona Airport we were met by our coach transfer rep and coached off to Torre del sol campsite where we spent the next two days. Upon arrival the park looked lovely, there was a supermarket, restaurant and bar for guests to use while onsite (at their own cost). We were taken to our mobile homes (caravans) which were basic but adequate for the job. The group then went off to the poolside and had a chilled day and lunch on site which was nice and reasonably priced to. The pool area was nice and clean and the actual pool itself was big with plenty do for kids (kids pool with kiddies things) and also for the adults to (Jacuzzi’s) . We were then met by the Eurocamp rep who took us a guided tour around the site, showing us the beach area and facilities the park has to offer. Later that night we met at the restaurant on site and had a lovely steak dinner courtesy of Eurocamps which was delicious, they also offered free drinks to accompany. On day 2 we were served with croissants and baguettes for breakfast in our mobile homes. We then walked along to the camp site next door Playa Montroig (much nicer). We were given again a guided tour of the park to see facilities it has to offer and also the different homes the park had to offer some of which were more like home from homes. We were given lunch to again have at our mobile home before having some more chill out time by the pool which was nice and relaxing. We were then taken to Cambrils for a walking tour which was nice to show us what Cambrils itself has to offer. It’s more residential I would say with an array of shops and lovely little restaurants. We then headed to a restaurant and were provided with lovely tapas. The food was very nice and I even gave a bash at experiencing the local cuisine on offer as i am normally very fussy. The staff within were also very attentive and had a lovely manner, they were also very kind to put on free bottles of wine and beer at the tables! Day3- Visits to California Palace, California Gardens and H10 vintage Salou. Lunch in the H10 vintage was delicious and had so much choice even for a fussy eater like me. Day trip to Aquapolis waterpark in La Pineda where you could potentially spend time in the park and across the road on the beach. We then checked into the Caribe hotel, had dinner at the buffet again which was adequate even for the fussiest of eaters before heading out for free time in Salou. We were put in touch with the owner of Temple Bar who kindly put on some finger food for us as his guests which is definitely worth a shout! And a nice friendly bar to! Day4- Breakfast was had in the Caribe hotel before we were taken for our show around of each of the PortAventura hotels. This was quite informative which was good as each hotel will suit each customer’s needs differently and by seeing all 5 will make it easy to help customers make the perfect choice for themselves and to suit their own needs and wants. We were then transferred to the park for a few fun filled hours in the brand new Ferrari Land! Thankfully Diane took us around so got us on the rides as fast pass which was amazing ques would have been about 40-50 minutes at this time when we went so saved us some precious time as we were only there a few days. I was lucky enough to get on the brand new coaster and get on the front seat which was just super amazing and what a feeling! You can get a ticket that’s fast pass and gets you at the front and for this ride it’s a must! We had a voucher from PortAventura to get us lunch so we went in and grabbed some in the Italian restaurant in the park, the guys loved there meals however mine was quite bland but was ok for the money if you were paying! We then made our way to Cambrils for a boatrip along the coast which was nice to see but not really my personal cup of tea probably better for older couples. Dinner that night was down at a lovely restaurant on the beachfront of Salou again where they put on a delicious tapas for everyone and even threw in free wine and beer again. Staff within the restaurant was very friendly and again very attentive. Lovely relaxed atmosphere enjoying a lovely meal on the beachfront was just perfect. Day5- Again breakfast was at the hotel before we headed over to the PortAventura Park for a lovely day of roller coasters! The park was just amazing for adrenaline junkies to kiddies as they have their own little sesame street section so this was just super. Again we were lucky enough to be given fast passes and for here you would 1400% need it if it was only a 1 day visit as the bigger rides ques were 2 hours +. We had lunch onsite in a Chinese place which was again lovely and you can get meal deals on offer here, for being in a park the food was nice and well worthy of any money anyone would pay, we were lucky enough to have been given it! Joanne and Caroline then met Me, Brooke and Stephanie as the rest of gang headed back to the hotel to get ready, and we spend an extra hour or so with our fast pass having our second turn of the rides! Dinner was down at a tapas on the front of La Pineda again which was delicious and for me being very fussy and eating tapas all week I was rather proud each individual place was fantastic and the service in each was great! If I could remember the names of the restaurants I would recommend all! After dinner me and a few of the girls made our own way back to Salou for some last minute shopping before the flight home. Collected from the hotel for our short transfer back to Reus. Myself and a few other guys were meeting press over there so we were given airside passes which was a little experience in itself. We went through security got our last bits and bobs then back through to go and meet the press. We then had a few pictures taken with guys from the tourist board and PortAventura including woody, before meeting our customers for our first flight in! We greeted them with ourselves of course, and soft drinks, Prosecco and some little freebies from the tourist board including beach balls for the kids and some cake! We then headed back over through security and made our way for our flight home. On the plane I was lucky enough to be given extra legroom seats on our flight which were amazing and worthy of every penny if paying for the cheap price of them! You could literally lie down on the floor if only you were allowed and they were super comfy! Would do it all over again in a heartbeat, it was an amazing trip from start to finish from the excursions we were taken on to the accommodation the group in general everything fitted together just like a jigsaw. Here are some lovely pictures of Salou
